The message is called Five Characteristics of the New Testament Church.
The first 47 minutes is the original recording from the conference. Following that is the rest of the message recorded after the fact since the original recording cut off after the 47:50 mark.
But the entire talk is retained in this 1-hour audio.
Important things to keep in mind before you listen:
- I was speaking to an audience that was seeking what the church is according to the New Testament. They also had an eschatological bent, which I refer to and appeal to at the end.
- The book I made mention of in the talk was the draft of Reimagining Church which was eventually published in 2008 by David C. Cook. The book that goes into the apostolic ministry (which I discuss at the end of the talk) was published in 2009 by David C. Cook. That book is called Finding Organic Church.
Neither this message nor the above books are for people who serve in the institutional/tradition church nor are they for those who enjoy traditional church services.
They are specifically for people who have left the institutional form of church (or who are on their way out), and they are exploring a more primitive way of gathering as the church.
That was the audience I was speaking to that day.
The only reason why I’m making this recording available to you is because you heard me share the background to it.
So as you listen, you know what was happening behind the scenes, how I felt, and how I handled the situation.
You may also glean some insights from the content, even though it’s probably not fully applicable to your context.
Please do not share this page or the audio with anyone else. It’s just for you brothers.
