Over the years, some people who read (or skimmed through) my article on A Vision for A Ministry Dream Team have written me with the name(s) of people they think would be a good fit for the team.
While I understand the sentiment, this isn’t how the article is to be used.
Here’s an excerpt at the bottom of the article that explains how readers are to respond to it.
I’ve simply written this document as a tool for the Holy Spirit to use the way He wishes. So if you are reading it and someone comes to mind who fits the above three criteria, reach out to them privately and share this document with them.
This paragraph appears after I lay out the criteria for the team and why I don’t feel at liberty to initiate the team myself or try to recruit people.
Instead, it’s the role of those who read the article and feel burdened that a particular person is a good fit to reach out to that individual and share the article with them.
Here’s an example of how one person has done it. It was written to a published author who he felt was a good fit for the team. You are welcome to use it yourself in your own email.
“Hey [Name of Author], I’ve been following Frank Viola’s work and it’s changed my life. Frank has shared his vision for a ministry dream team. I think you would be a great fit for this team. I hope you’ll read his vision for it, and if it resonates, that you’ll reach out to Frank. He gives his contact information at the bottom of the article. You can read the ministry team article at insurgencebook.com/DreamTeam.pdf. I really hope you guys team up!”
I also give instruction in the article on how to reach someone who appears to be inaccessible.
The “dream team” article can be downloaded and the link shared at insurgencebook.com/DreamTeam.pdf
You can download the article and attach it to the email you send to the particular individual you believe is a good fit or just include the link in your email to them.
If AFTER you send the article to the person, and you want to let me know, that’s perfectly fine.
But again, please carefully read the criteria before you send the article to them. (The criteria is pretty specific.)
