Songs for the Kingdom

The following songs are some of my all-time favorites.

They aren’t typical, and most churches today have never heard of them.

All of the songs adore Christ. And the lyrics contain depth.

They also give language to the Eternal Purpose, namely, a bride for the Son, a house for the Father, a body for the Son, and a family for the Father, all expressing the glorious riches of the Lord Jesus and embodying the kingdom of the heavenlies come to earth.

For decades, we’ve used these songs in our churches and conferences.

The following recordings were made by some of the believers in an organic expression of the church that I planted.

None of them are professional singers, just simple brothers and sisters who love the Lord and who have been captured by His glory.

Some of the tunes have two separate recordings on the same track (played back to back). So make sure you listen to each song until the very end.

Most of the audio recordings were made by people in the same church.

You will notice a difference, however.

Some recordings were made in a room with high ceilings so the quality is better.

Each of the songs were composed/written/rewritten by many different Christians over a period of many years.

Some of the songs are originals written by people in the church who recorded them.

With the exception of some of the video recordings at the top, none of the audio recordings were done in a studio, and the recordings aren’t professional.

But they are good enough to enjoy and learn the songs.

The only reason why I’m uploading these recordings here is to teach others (including you) the songs.

As you listen, we invite you to worship the Lord with us.

Just click on the name of the song, and it will start playing. (Remember to listen to the whole track since many of the audios contain two versions.)

The lyrics for the audio songs appear below each title.

For most of the videos at the top, the lyrics are displayed on the video.

Your brother,

Frankie V.

Our God Wants a Home

(Tune: Sloop John B)

Brothers

I’m Abraham of Chaldee

My God He said to me

Pack up, head out far and you will roam

Travelin’ all night

It’s far out of sight

Well, I feel so lonely

I’m in the unknown

All: Chorus

So pick up the promise (sisters)

Pick up the promise (brothers)

Look for the city (sisters)

Look for the city (brothers)

Whose foundation and builder is our God

Our God wants a home

In the land of His own

Well, He feels so lonely

He wants a real home

Sisters

I’m Sarah I believe

God will make me conceive

For He is faithful in what He promised to me

The Lord will go on

And set up His throne

Well, to have a building

In the place of His own

All: Chorus

So pick up the promise (sisters)

Pick up the promise (brothers)

Look for the city (sisters)

Look for the city (brothers)

Whose foundation and builder is our God

Our God wants a home

So let’s go make him a home

Well, He feels so lonely

He wants a true home

All

The Lord God He brought us here

His Spirit has drawn us near

He is ours for life and we are His own

A true living stone

Very bone of His bone

We are His body

He now has a home

All: Chorus

So pick up the promise (sisters)

Pick up the promise (brothers)

Look for the city (sisters)

Look for the city (brothers)

Whose foundation and builder is our God

Our God wants a home

So let’s now make him a home

This is the best trip. We’ve ever been on

We place You (sisters echo) – high above all else

Above all else

And we come to You

To fellowship with You

There’s a Man in the Glory

There’s a Man in the glory whose life is in me

He is pure and He’s holy, triumphant and free

He is wise and He’s loving – how tender is He!

His life in the glory, my life must be!

His life in the glory, my life must be!

There’s a Man in the glory whose life is in me

He overcame Satan; from bondage He’s free

In life He is reigning – how kingly is He!

His life in the glory, my life must be!

His life in the glory, my life must be!

There’s a Man in the glory whose life is in me

In Him is no sickness – no weakness has He

He is strong and in vigor – how mighty is He!

His life in the glory, my life must be!

His life in the glory, my life must be!

There’s a Man in the glory whose life is in me

His peace is abiding – how kingly is He!

He is joyful and radiant, expecting to see

His life in the glory lived out in me!

His life in the glory lived out in me!

King Jesus is Our Head

King Jesus is our Head; the rest of Him are we,

His Body and His Bride, His ancient mystery.

He raised us from the dead and filled us with His life.

He’s coming back again to claim His holy Wife.

(Sisters)

He is the firstborn over all creation

Filling our hearts with sweet anticipation,

Making us long for final consummation

When He’ll be All in all.

(All)

King Jesus is our Head; the rest of Him are we,

His Body and His Bride, His ancient mystery.

(Brothers and Sisters together)

He raised us from the dead

He is the firstborn over all creation

And filled us with His life

Filling our hearts with sweet anticipation

He’s coming back again

Making us long for final consummation

To claim His holy Wife

When He’ll be All in All

(Brothers) Lord Jesus! Lord Jesus!

(Sisters) You have won our hearts and set us free.

(Brothers) Lord Jesus! Lord Jesus!

(Sisters) Shine in us for all the world to see.

(Everyone)

You are the first born over all creation,

Filling our hearts with sweet anticipation,

Making us long for final consummation

You are our All in all.

You are our All in all.

Who is Like Unto You?

Who is like unto You (sisters echo)

Oh, Lord among gods (sisters echo)

Who is like unto You (sisters echo)

Glorious in holiness

Fearful in praises

Doing wonders

Who is like unto You?

There is no one like You (sisters echo)

Oh, Lord among gods (sisters echo)

There is no one like You (sisters echo)

Glorious in holiness

Fearful in praises

Doing wonders

There is no one like You

You’re our wisdom, oh Lord (sisters echo)

And You are our goal (sisters echo)

You’re our strength and our hope (sisters echo)

And in You we are whole

You are our vision and song

And to You we belong

There is no one like You

We Love Your Kingdom

We love Your kingdom, Lord.

It’s message is welcome here.

Whatever leads more near to You

Is what we long to hear.

To hear what You demand

Brings joy, not tears or pain.

What does it matter what we lose

When it is Christ we gain?

We’ll leave all things behind

To answer Your wondrous call.

Your voice rings out, “Come follow Me;

Come follow the Lord of all!”

Then what shall we possess;

What riches shall we hold?

To know the Lord is wealth enough

To last for years untold.

We’ll know You as You are,

Not as our minds conceive.

The only limit left for us

Is what we dare believe.

We Keep Falling In Love With You

We keep falling in love with You

Over and over and

Over and over again.

We keep falling in love with You

Over and over and

Over and over again.

You grow sweeter and sweeter

As the days go by.

Oh what a love between the Lord and I!

We keep falling in love with You

Over and over and

Over and over again.

We’ll go up to the mountaintop,

Down to the valley floor,

Pass through the desert and streams.

We’ll go up to the mountaintop,

Down to the valley floor,

Pass through the desert and streams.

We’ll know sorrow and suffering,

We’ll go to the cross.

There’ll be no gain unless there first be loss.

But You’ll never let go;

No, You’ll never let go

Of our hand

This Girl Has Found Eternity

(Tune: Sing Hallelujah to the Lord)

This girl has found eternity (sisters echo)

From doubt and fear she’s been set free (she’s been set free)

In her assembled are

Saints like eternal stars

This girl has found eternity (sisters echo)

It’s in eternity she moves (sisters echo)

All of Your purpose she now proves (she now proves)

Your bride a colony

Outside time’s tyranny

It’s in eternity she moves (sisters echo)

Your bride stands high above the world (sisters echo)

Soaring her wings are now unfurled (soaring her wings)

Together we will stand

You are our fertile land

Your bride stands high above the world (sisters echo)

Out of Your side, kind of Your kind (sisters echo)

And with each other we’re entwined (we are entwined)

Your blood flows through our veins

Our hearts all bear Your name

Out of Your side, kind of Your kind (sisters echo)

Out of Your side, kind of Your kind (sisters echo)

Do You Hear the People Sing

(From the play: Les Miserables)

Do you hear the people sing

Those who are standing ‘gainst the night?

It is the music of a people

Who are climbing to the light.

For the wretched of the earth there is a flame that never dies;

Even the darkest night will end, And the sun will rise.

We now live in glorious freedom

In the city of our God.

We have joined the endless ages.

We walk where the martyrs trod.

The chains of religion cannot bind the children of God.

We have joined in that crusade;

We have abandoned all our life.

Somewhere beyond this veil of flesh

There is a realm of endless light.

Do you hear the people sing;

(very quietly) Say, do you hear the distant drums.

It is the future that they bring

When tomorrow comes!

Will you join in our crusade?

Will you be strong and stand with me? Somewhere beyond the barricade

There is a world you long to see!

You can hear the people sing;

YES!… you can hear the distant drums!

It is the future that they bring

When tomorrow comes.

(Repeat “We have joined in that crusade…”)

It is the future that they bring

When tomorrow comes.

What He Is

What He is, He’s the Firstborn

He’s the First-born of creation

He is the Father’s Blessed Son

They’re in the Spirit, they are One

He’s the Firstborn! Wonderful!

What He is, He’s the river.

He’s the mighty flowing river.

He waters me in a desert land.

He’s my hiding place; He is our man.

He’s the river! Wonderful!

What He is, He’s the vine tree.

He’s the branch, the root of Jesse.

He’s the tree of life: we have the right

To eat of Him and have His life.

He’s the vine tree! Wonderful!

What He is, He’s the Shepherd.

He’s the lamb of God, the off’ring.

We rest and feed in the pasture land.

We strike the blood and eat the lamb.

He’s the Shepherd! Wonderful!

What He is, He’s the Spirit,

He’s the all-inclusive Spirit.

He’s our everything; He’s our all in all.

He is life to us whene’er we call.

He’s the Spirit! Wonderful!

What He is, He’s a Person.

He’s a real and living Person.

He is living now inside of us.

This Person is so glorious.

He’s a Person! Wonderful!

What He is, He’s the Body;

He’s the fullness of the Godhead;

He’s the center of the Father’s plan,

Christ and the church, the one new man.

He is wonderful, wonderful.

He is wonderful, wonderful.

He is wonderful, wonderful.

You Are My Shepherd

You are my shepherd I’ll not want

You make me lie in pastures green

You lead me by the still, still waters

Your goodness restores my soul

Chorus:

And I do trust in You alone.

And I do trust in You alone.

For Your endless mercies follow me.

Your goodness has led me home.

You guide my ways in righteousness

And you anoint my head with oil

And my cup, it overflows with joy

I feast on your pure delight.

And though I walk the darkest path

I do not fear the evil one

For you are with me, and your rod and staff

Are the comforts I need to know

There’s A Life That’s Living On The Earth

There’s a life that’s living on the earth today;

The life is Christ in all His own.

He’s alive in Spirit; He’s the life in us.

We’re in the life.  We’re on the throne.

Chorus:

We’re on the earth;

We know our life’s not here.

We’re in Christ; we’re not below.

We’re alive to God and not to men;

We’re on the earth, but on the throne.

There’s a message coming from the Church today:

“Have a life, but not your own;

Life not from your body and not from your soul,

Another life that’s from the throne.”

Chorus:

There’s a battle raging on the earth today

To live by life, but not the old;

Life not from your body and not from your soul,

Another life that’s from the throne.

Chorus:

The Half Cannot Be Fancied

To Jesus every day I find

My heart is closer drawn

You’re fairer than the sons of men

And fresher than the morn;

You’re all that I can say of You

And infinitely more,

And every day You’re dearer

Than You were the day before

Chorus:

The half cannot be fancied

Of such a treasure store,

And every day You’re dearer

Than You were the day before

Your glory broke upon us

When we saw You in the night;

You gave us light and sight

And promised we would be Your wife.

You fill and satisfy our

Longing spirits more and more.

And every day You’re dearer

Than You were the day before.

Chorus:

My life is often dreary,

But You come in sweet release

To take me to a place where

Only God and man can meet.

You give me everything, and yet

There’s always something more.

And every day You’re sweeter

Than You were the day before.

Chorus:

We’re Here To Have A Feast Today

(Tune: When Johnny Comes Marching Home)

We’re here to have a feast today

Hurrah! Hurrah!

We’re here to eat and drink of Christ,

Hurrah!  Hurrah!

We’re going to open up our mouths

And let the living Christ come out,

And we’ll all be satisfied

By the Lord in His house,

For we know each member

Has a portion of this Christ,

Hurrah! Hurrah!

And when we come together, we’ll

Display, display

The depths and riches of this Christ,

The newness which is in His life,

And we’ll all be built up

Into the House of God.

(repeat)

And we’ll all be built up

Into the House of God.

Your Steadfast Love

Your steadfast love, Oh Lord, never ceases.

Your mercies never come to an end.

They are new every morning

New every morning,

Great is Your faithfulness, Oh Lord.

Great is Your faithfulness.

You may at times, Oh Lord, bring us sorrow,

But You will never cast us away;

You are love and compassion,

Love and compassion,

Great is Your faithfulness, Oh Lord.

Great is Your faithfulness.

You hold us close, Oh Lord, by Your passion;

Through every season You call us Your own.

We are held to Your bosom,

Held to Your bosom,

Great is Your faithfulness, Oh Lord.

Great is Your faithfulness.

Behold What Manner of Love

(Sing in Rounds)

Behold what manner of love the Father has given unto us

Behold what manner of love the Father has given unto us

That we should be called the sons of God

That we should be called the sons of God

Behold what manner of love the Father has given unto us

Behold what manner of love the Father has given unto us

That we should be called the bride of Christ

That we should be called the bride of Christ

Behold what manner of love the Father has given unto us

Behold what manner of love the Father has given unto us

That we should be called the house of God

That we should be called the house of God

Behold what manner of love the Father has given unto us

Behold what manner of love the Father has given unto us

That we should be called His masterpiece

That we should be called His masterpiece

God’s Completed Mystery

(Tune: The Star-Spangled Banner)

Oh, say can you see

Through the eyes of your Lord

What a glorious Church

He is building by His Word?

Called to fellowship sweet,

She now sits at His feet,

Learning how to be one

Being made in His image.

Faithful now she will be.

All creation shall see

The glory of God

And be truly set free

From the bondage of corruption

Into glorious liberty.

Christ in her,

And she in Christ

God’s completed mystery!

Living in the Body of the Lord

(Tune: Walking in a Winter Wonderland)

(Sisters)

Brothers sing, for He’s listening

Share Him now, give expression

A beautiful sight, we’re in Him tonight.

Living in the Body of the Lord

(Brothers)

Her name is Ecclesia

She is made of each other

He sings a love song, as we walk along

Living in the Body of the Lord

(All)

In the Body we all fit together

Formed into the dwelling of the Lord

He asks, “Are you married?” “Yes forever

To You, our Lord, our Savior and our Light”

We go on, never tired

For we’re filled with His fire

We face unafraid, the plans that He’s made

Living in the Body of the Lord.

In the Body we are built together

Formed into the dwelling of the Lord

Knowing that we’re married to our Savior

He’s taking us through realms unexplored

We go on, never tired

For we’re filled with His fire

We face unafraid, the plans that He’s made

Living in the Body of the Lord

We face unafraid, the plans that He’s made

Living in the Body of the Lord

Precious Lord

Jesus Lord, I’m captured by your beauty

All my heart to Thee I open wide

Now set free from all religious duty.

Only let me in Thy self abide.

As I’m gazing here upon Thy glory,

Fill my heart with radiance Divine.

Saturate me, Lord, I now implore Thee.

Mingle now Thy Spirit, Lord, with mine.

Shining One, how clear the way inside me.

Son of man, I see Thee on the throne.

Holy one, the flames of God consume me.

Till my being glows with Thee alone.

Lord when first I saw Thee in Thy splendor,

All self love and glory sank in shame.

Now my heart, its love and praises render,

Tasting all the sweetness of Thy name.

Precious Lord, my flask of alabaster

Gladly now I break in love for Thee.

I anoint Thy head, Beloved Master.

Lord, behold, I’ve saved the best for Thee.

Dearest Lord, I waste myself upon Thee.

Loving Thee, I’m deeply satisfied.

Love outpoured from hidden depths within me,

Costly oil, dear Lord, I would provide

My Beloved, come on spices’ mountain.

How I yearn to see Thee face to face.

Drink, dear Lord, from my heart’s flowing fountain.

Till I rest fore’er in thine embrace.

Not alone, Oh Lord do I adore Thee,

But with all the saints as Thy dear Bride.

Quickly come, our love is waiting for Thee.

Jesus Lord, Thou will be satisfied.

Have You Heard Him, Seen Him, Known Him

(Tune: Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing)

Have you heard Him, seen Him, known Him?

Is not yours a captured heart?

Chief among ten thousand own Him

Joyful choose the better part

Idols once they won you, charmed you

Lovely things that turned my face

So it was that sin deceived me

‘Till the Lord outpoured His grace

What has stripped the seeming beauty

From the idols of the earth?

Not a sense of right or duty

But the sight of peerless worth

Not the crushing of these idols

With its bitter pain and smart

But the beaming of His beauty

The unveiling of His heart

Who extinguishes their candle

‘Till they hail the rising sun?

Who discards the garb of winter

‘Till the summer has begun?

‘Tis that look that melted Peter

‘Tis the face that Stephen saw

‘Tis the heart that wept with Mary

Can alone from idols draw

Draw and win and fill completely

‘Till the cup o’erflows the brim

What have we to do with idols

Who have fellowshipped with Him?

Oh, What a Beautiful Woman

(Tune: Oh What a Beautiful Mornin’)

Holy ones do you hear when we’re singing?

It’s the voice of the Lord we are bringing

He gave us His life that we might be His wife

And as she is singing she hears His reply

(brothers) Oh what a beautiful woman

(sisters) Oh what a beautiful Lord

(brothers) My precious bride I adore you!

(sisters) You are my only reward!

In the dark of the night You have found me

With a new love and life You surround me

The hope in me flies like the sun in the skies

It’s the dawn of our love and the earth comes alive!

(brothers) Oh what a beautiful woman

(sisters) Oh what a beautiful Lord

(brothers) My precious bride I adore you!

(sisters) You are my only reward!

(together) You are our only reward!

I See My Savior In Each Face

(Tune: Auld Lang Syne)

I see my Savior in each face,

His love the tie that binds.

Our lives connected by His grace,

His Body, bread, and wine.

The grain is crushed: a brand new race,

His cleansing blood divine;

Our Lord revealed here in this place:

His life now yours and mine.

Our lives connected by His grace,

His Body, bread, and wine;

Our Lord revealed here in this place:

His life now yours and mine

Our Lord revealed here in this place:

His life now yours and mine

The River is Here

Down the mountain the River flows.

It brings refreshing wherever it goes.

Through the valleys and over the fields

The River is rushing and the River is here.

Chorus:

The River of God sets our feet a-dancing.

The River of God fills our hearts with cheer.

The River of God fills our mouths with laughter,

And we rejoice for the River is here.

In His garden His river flows

Yielding gold, pearl, and precious stones.

We are a people who eat and drink.

In His river our beings do sink.

Chorus:

The River of God is teeming with life.

Those who drink are engulfed in Christ.

From the River of living stones

Grows a city, a house for the Lord

Hallelujah, I’m Free

Brothers: Hallelujah, I’m free.

Sisters: Hallelujah, I’m free.

Brothers: Hallelujah, I’m free.

Sisters: Hallelujah, I’m free.

No burdensome laws to bother me,

‘Cause Jesus came and nailed my blame

Onto a tree.

Brothers: Hallelujah, I’m free!

Sisters: Hallelujah, I’m free!

Brothers: Hallelujah, I’m free.

Sisters: Hallelujah, I’m free.

Brothers: Hallelujah, I’m free.

Sisters: Hallelujah, I’m free.

A worldly man, no more I’ll be.

I’m new inside; He nailed my hide.

On that same tree.

Brothers: Hallelujah, I’m free!

Sisters: Hallelujah, I’m free!

Brothers: Hallelujah, I’m free.

Sisters: Hallelujah, I’m free.

Brothers: Hallelujah, I’m free.

Sisters: Hallelujah, I’m free.

His life’s transforming you and me.

We’re being changed and rearranged

Unreligiously.

Brothers: Hallelujah, I’m free!

Sisters: Hallelujah, I’m free!

Brothers: Hallelujah, I’m free.

Sisters: Hallelujah, I’m free.

Brothers: Hallelujah, I’m free.

Sisters: Hallelujah, I’m free.

We’ve found real building, finally.

In Christ we hide; we’re in the Bride

Brothers: Hallelujah, I’m free!

Sisters: Hallelujah, I’m free!

Brothers: Hallelujah, I’m free!

Sisters: Hallelujah, I’m free!

Brothers: Hallelujah, I’m free!

Sisters: Hallelujah, I’m free!

Kind of My Own Kind

(Tune: Somewhere Over the Rainbow)

(Brothers)

My bride, you have been chosen before time

Blessed with all of my glory

Blameless before my sight

(Sisters)

My Lord, you’re all I long for, I need you

All the dreams that I dare to dream

Really are of you

(Brothers) Each day I take you in my arms

(Sisters) And dance with you beyond the stars

(All) Together

(Brothers) I live in you and you in me

(Sisters) Entwined for all eternity

(All) How you complete me

(All)

My Love, I want to give you everything

True love, joy, and devotion

All that you are to me

Beholding you I always find

How truly you are

Kind of my own Kind!

Jesus Christ, Every Morning You Greet Me

(Tune: Edelweiss)

Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ,

Every morning You greet me.

God’s pure light, my delight,

You look happy to meet me.

Strong in my spirit

You bloom and grow,

Bloom and grow forever.

Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ,

You’re my Bridegroom forever.

Lord, Most High, how can I

Thank You for all You give me?

Your dear Son left His home,

Gave up heaven to love me.

Over and over I’ll spread the news,

There’s no greater story.

Once You came bearing shame,

Soon You’ll come in Your glory.

I Love My Brothers And My Sisters

I love my brothers and my sisters,

Vessels of my Father’s love.

In them I can see

My Father’s love for me.

I love my brothers and my sisters.

We love our Father all together.

This is how they know we’re His:

Fellowship divine

Outside of space and time.

We love our Father all together.

He loves His Bride, the Ekkesia.

All for her He came to give.

She’s the image of

His passion, life, and love.

He loves His Bride, the Ekklesia

You are All in All

Now I sing to You the song of ages,

Sing Your love and sing Your praises,

Sing to You, Your life now flowing,

Your glory fills the earth.

You’re a river flowing in and through me,

A mountain strong and yet enduring,

A bird that soars to highest places,

A fish that roams the deep.

Chorus:

You are All in All;

You’re beautiful to see.

You are Love,

You are Life,

You’re in me!

You’re a glorious sunrise, a Bridegroom coming,

The stars above, yet never fading.

A flower unfolds Your glorious color,

A garden in full bloom.

You’re a King, who crowns His queen forever,

Young lovers dancing now and ever.

Your passion floods the earth in torrents;

Your love outshines the sun.

Chorus:

You Fill Up My Spirit

(Tune: Annie’s Song)

You fill up my spirit

As I take time to know You

As I stand here inside You

And call on Your name

You come and You love me

You’re my joy and my sorrow

I sit in Your presence

And love You again

My Jesus, I love You

May I always be with You

Let me cry in Your presence

Let me die in Your arms

It’s all my desire

To give my life to You

You fill up my spirit

I’m Yours once again

You fill me with splendor

As I gaze here inside You

I’m lost in Your being

And drowned in Your sight

You come and You love me

I’m caught here so breathless

My heart pounds within me

Right here in Your arms

You hold me between realms

Where the heavens and earth kiss

Time and eternity

Embrace in my heart

And here in Your garden

We’re lost in each other

I’m drowning again, Lord

Right here in Your arms

Sweet Bride, My Love

(Tune: Greensleeves)

(Brothers)

Sweet Bride, My love,

Come away with Me.

Leave your cares behind;

I have set you free.

The winter’s past and the rain is gone.

It is time to arise and go with Me.

Come, come, come away with Me;

Let our hearts be one for eternity.

Come, come, come away with Me,

And we’ll dwell together forever.

(Sisters)

At last, my Lord,

I have heard Your voice.

It is all I hear,

Oh, my heart rejoice!

You bid me come, now I follow You,

It matters not where You take me.

Jesus, my fair Lord and King

To You my heart with joy I bring.

Jesus, I belong with You

For You have desired to love me.

Resting Place

Heaven is my throne and earth is my footstool

Where is the house you will build for me?

Whom of you will hear the cry of my heart?

Where will my resting place be?

Here Oh Lord, have we desired for you a home

Long have we, desired for you to dwell

Here Oh Lord, have we prepared a resting place

Here Oh Lord, we wait for you alone

Homeward I’m Heading

(Tune: The Bonnie, Bonnie Banks)

Homeward I’m heading. I’m weary and tired.

But a soft breeze tells of Your loving

Then I call Your name

You are nearer than my breath.

And my heart sings the song of Your glory!

And while I am sleeping, You still sing to me.

And the sweet, sweet sound of Your longing

Awakens my love, Lord, I never want to leave.

I am lost in the tides of belonging.

And when I awaken, my heart turns to You

And You are as bright as the dawning!

And we love each other,

As it was meant to be

For You are my light in the morning.

And when I awaken, my heart turns to You

For You are my light in the morning.

Great is God, Great Be His Praises

(Tune: Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee)

Great is God, great be His praises

In His city, in His church.

Beautiful for elevation’

She’s the joy of all the earth.

In her, God is known as refuge,

Though the enemies conspired.

When they saw her, then they marveled,

Shook with fear, and then retired.

(Sisters)

Christ Himself the Church is building;

Hades gates cannot prevail;

Satan’s hosts are gripped with terror,

Pained like women in travail.

Like a wind, the Holy Spirit

Scatters all the shops of night

Brothers, let us trust the Spirit

Not our power, not our might.

(Brothers)

Walk about the church my sisters;

Count her towers, mark them well.

Set your hearts upon her bulwarks,

All her praise your children tell.

God is our God, now and ever,

He our guide even unto death.

While we live our lives are for Him

While we breathe, praise is our breath.

(All)

As Your name, so are Your praises

Unto all the ends of earth.

Righteousness fills up your right hand;

How we marvel at Your worth.

Let Mount Zion joy with laughter;

Let her daughters too be glad

For Your judgments will bring justice,

Let the Church with joy be clad.

Hail to the King (read lyrics with the song)

Abraham’s Son,

Chosen One,

Zion’s Cornerstone

Passover Lamb,

Son of man,

Seated upon Your Throne

Chorus:

Hail to the King (He is our),

Hail to the King (Our only)

Hail to the King of Kings

(Repeat)

Oh Promised Seed,

Beneath Your feet,

Sin and death shall fall

Now through us,

Tread the serpent’s head,

‘Til You are all in all

Chorus:

Hail to the King (He is our),

Hail to the King (Our only)

Hail to the King of Kings

(Repeat)

Oh Blessed King,

We have now seen,

Father’s Mystery,

You Lord will reign,

With your lovely Bride,

For all eternity

Chorus:

Hail to the King (You are our)

Jesus our King (Our only)

Hail to the King of Kings

You are our King (You are our),

Our only King (Our only)

Hail to the King of Kings

Hail to the King (You are our)

Jesus our King (Our only)

Hail to the King of Kings

You are our King (You are our),

Our only King (Our only)

Hail to the King of Kings

The Road (fun rehearsal)

Our God is restoring His body

His call sounds to you and to me

“Come out from among the heathen,

Leave all your traditions behind.”

Jesus Christ will be our Center

We will have no headship but His

And He will have the preeminence

And we need no permission from men!

Let’s all make a road to the glory

That has its roots in the heavenlies

Let’s all make a road to the glory

That reaches to a high mountain

And leads us into a city

With the cross as our only banner

And a torch that burns through the ages

We declare that CHRIST IS OUR HEAD!
