Emails Coming from Substack
I’m grateful that you have subscribed to my weekly UNFILTERED email list. Some of you joined when we started in 2008. Others have joined since, even as recent as last month.
For years, we’ve been using Mailchimp to send out the emails. However, the prices for this email service are astronomical, and it’s no longer sustainable.
Therefore, we are moving to substack to send you my Thursday UNFILTERED articles. THE ARTICLES WILL STILL BE GRATIS – NO CHARGE AT ALL!
Many substack writers charge a paid subscription. I don’t. No paywall, no BS (bullshizzle), no fee. Yes, that makes me basically a hero. Feel free to start a slow clap … I’ll wait.
NOTHING WILL BE CHANGED other than the emails will start coming from frankviola@substack.com. You may not even notice the difference. But this is just an FYI.
You can add that email address to your contact list/white list, which may help with delivery.
And keep an eye out on all your folders.
The “From” name will stay the same. It will still read “Viola Unfiltered.” So you may never even notice the change.
* You do NOT need to have a substack account to read the emails.
* The format of the emails in your inbox should be more appealing. I can post images into the emails seamlessly. (Mailchimp caused formatting problems when images were inserted.)
* I’m also hoping that the delivery rate will be better, and the emails won’t end up on your folders. (Though they might, so always check your folders like junk/spam/promotions/other.) The Promotions Folder for Gmail is the worst. Always check that one.
* In addition to the Thursday UNFILTERED articles, you’ll also get a Deep Cuts article on Sundays.
*My blog (FrankViola DOT org) will still operate as usual. It hosts my 1,000+ articles and resources (books, podcasts, YouTube channel, FAQ, discography, the chronological project list, etc.).
