Very good podcast on a topic most American Christians are blinded to. Most people arguing that “it’s the love of money” rather than money itself, are not themselves wealthy (at least by the standards of the society in which they live). Often, a strident defense of the wealth they do not have betrays a hunger for more. And that hunger for more is what the “love of money” is. It is epidemic in our society, and there are few who are not infected with it.

I do not fault those who have pursued godliness and have been blessed materially. But those are few and far between. May most of us be convicted of idolizing wealth, of a lack of trust in God for meeting our needs, and a fleshly discontent with the provision God has made for us. God has much greater things in mind for us than pursuing the American Dream.

Frank, I loved this podcast. Especially the way you emphasized that we must “listen until the end”. Masterful! And Biblical, too. 🙂

I just finished listening to your podcast and it was spot on. It comes down to a heart issue and us following the guidance of the Spirit. Sadly a lot of us are not guided by the Spirit but our own principles or principles of others and our hearts are tied to our possessions. By the way, the song is a classic.
